A 12-inch water main ruptured on Mueller Boulevard near the Aldrich Street intersection Wednesday afternoon, sending water across both eastbound lanes and forcing Austin Water to shut down service to approximately 200 homes in the surrounding blocks.
Crews arrived at the scene around 1:40 p.m. and expect repairs to take six to eight hours. Eastbound Mueller Boulevard is closed between Aldrich Street and Barbara Jordan Boulevard. Austin Water has issued a boil-water advisory for affected addresses; residents can check their status at austinwater.org/outages or call 512-972-1000.
